Now that we understand the 4th dimension as a line of 3 dimensional time-points, can we imagine more dimensions.
We will consider the 4th dimension as a time-line.
There are 2 more dimensions in our universe.
Potential Spacetime
Building off of our intuition towards lower spacial dimensions, we can now imagine the jump from 4-D to 5-D in the same way as 1-D to 2-D.
We will be constructing a âtime-planeâ. The construction of a plane from a line is done by moving the line parallel to the first, and filling the space between and extending outward with an infinite amount of lines.
Take a 4-D time-line, and create a 5-D time-plane.
What does this represent? When we think of timelines, we can imagine âwhat ifâ?
A 5-D time-plane expresses all of the different possible timelines. Like every other dimension, this one is also infinite, expressing infinite possibilities.
*If 4-D is like a roll of film, 5-D is all of the possible edits.
Instead of a straight timeline, imagine it curving through this plane of possibilities. Narrowly avoiding disaster at some turns, making regrettable choices at others.
This plane of all potential paths through time is the 5th dimension. The actual line taken and experienced by us is a 4th dimensional time-line.
Expressed Spacetime
Once again, lets use the lower spacial dimensions to make the jump from 5-D to 6-D. Letâs build ourselves a âtime-cubeâ.
Take a time-plane and place another beside it. Fill the spaces between and extend. We now have another cube like structure, constructed of an infinite series of potential timelines organized in an infinite series of planes.
The diagram is getting complicated. To simplify out visualizations the higher dimensions by subtracting 3, and remembering that 0D is actually a 3D time-point, which encompasses all of 3D space.
If 5D is all of the possible edits of the film, 6D is moving between the theaters as all of them play. Doesnât matter how they started, or how they will end. We can combine the different films as experienced by us as we move between the theaters. We only see one film in this process, even though they are all playing.
Letâs imagine that all events simultaneously happen. You both win the lottery and donât, and you navigate between these options. All other events that we didnât navigate to are referred to as possibilities. This doesnât mean they didnât happen, it means we didnât navigate through them.
Lets explore 3 time-planes that represent possibilities, with time-lines expressing the different paths taken through 5D.
Our true path through 6D spacetime can now be traced:
The important thing to note is that each time-plane has a different set of possibilities.
A good way to visualize this is to imagine a spaceship flying in a cube. The spaceship can move in any direction, but the path it traces is a 1 dimensional line curving through the higher spacial dimensions.
The path created by a 0-D point moving through 3-D space expresses itself as a 1-D line that is curved through the higher spacial dimensions.
As we navigate through 6-D spacetime, a 4-D path is traced, which we experience as time.
Unlike a spaceship, we cannot move backwards in 6D spacetime. We can only move in certain trajectories as defined by our Light Cones.
Symmetry
There is a symmetry between the 3 spacial dimensions and the 3 temporal ones. As we can construct 3 spacial dimensions, we can logically construct 3 temporal ones in the same way.
The 6th dimension is where all possible timelines actually happen. We navigate between these separate realities.
We do this by collapsing all possibilities into one 4D path as an observer. To wrap your mind around how this occurs, enter the x Quantum Soup
